Chandra Wilson

August 27, 1969 in Houston, Texas.

All About Chandra:
She started her theater career at the age of five as a member of Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS). She attended Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and went on to the Tisch School of Arts at New York University.  She earned a BFA in drama and has an enjoyed a successful stage, TV and film career since.  Wison's first regualr network TV role was in the short-lived series Bob Patterson, a post “Seinfield.”  She also appeard on Law and Order, Sex and the City, and The Sopranos, and had a small role in Lone Star (1996).  Wilson is an accomplished singer, and has sung in several productions.  Wilson was nominated in 2006, 2007 and 2008 for an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama. Wilson has three children; daughter Serena (born 1992), daughter Joy (born 1994), and son Michael (born 2005). While she was pregnant with Michael, her character on Grey's Anatomy, Miranda Bailey, was also pregnant.

Strengths:
Straightforward, tough, quick-witted.

Weaknesses:
Bailey's not known for having many weaknesses, although some colleagues think having a baby has made her less of a doctor, something both she and Dr. Webber disagree with, she sometime gets involved with patients when it comes to kids.

Likes:
Being feared by her interns; being a Mom to Tuck.
Dislikes:
Interns who suck up and talk back; doctors who look down on her because she's a parent; interns who don't pull their weight; fraternizing between attendings and interns; and being woken up on her shift when she's trying to take a nap.

Family:
Gave birth to her first child (affectionately known as Tuck) during a bomb scare. On that same fateful day, she almost lost her husband after he suffered head trauma in a car accident on the way to the hospital to see the birth.

Notable Relationships:
Married to Tucker Jones for 10 years but recently separated after enduring a home accident concerning baby Tuck.

Other:
There is a soft side to Bailey's ferocious character. You just have to catch her on the right day.
