All About T.R. Knight:
T.R. Knight stands for Theodore Raymond Knight.  At the age, five Knight's career began at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis in the late 1990s.  He moved to New York in 1998 and appeared in Broadway plays through 2003.  In 2005 Knight landed the role in Grey's Anatomy as George O'Malley, his role earned him a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2007.  October 19, 2006 Knight came out and announced that he was in deed gay.  In June 2008, Knight revealed in an interview with Extra that for the past six months, he is dating Mark Cornelson.  The two still remain a couple.   

George O'Malley's Character

Position:
Still an Intern after failing his medical exam but the Chief let him retake it and he passed it, which now makes him a Resident.

Strengths:
Kind-hearted; compassionate; loyal; excellent bedside manner; great at calming patients

Weaknesses:
He can get a little too involved with patients, marrying Callie on the spur of the moment demonstrates, he can be very impulsive.

Likes:
Scrubbing in; strengthening friendships; looking good in front of the Chief

Dislikes:
Being a second-year intern; operating on family; Thanksgiving hunting trips; picking a car; being emasculated.

Family:
George is close to his family, although he has always felt like an outsider to them. After his father died of cancer, George assumed the role of head of the family, looking after his Mom and brothers as they dealt with the death of their father and husband. Married and later divorced Callie Torres.

Notable Relationships:
George thought he had found his perfect match in the form of Dr. Callie Torres, but unfortunately the marriage didn't last for long, particularly after an ill-fated affair with his best friend, Izzie Stevens that ended not so good either.

Other:
He was nicknamed 007, or licensed to kill, by the other interns after a terrible first surgery, but George redeemed himself by performing heart surgery in a lift during a power cut. He has become much more confident in his work.
