Katherine Heigl

All About Katherine:
Heigl a model and actress since childhood posed for Sears and Lord and Taylor, also was seen in commercials for Cheerios cereal.   She has worked steadily since her breakout role as the precocious daughter in My Father the Hero (1994).  She has also had roles in many well-known movies such as: Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995), Bride of Chucky (1998), and her three seasons as a teenager alien in Roswell (1999-2002).  One of the two newest movies she stared in was the hit comedy Knocked Up (2007) and 27 Dresses.  Heigl won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2007.  She is the youngest of four children (Meg, Jason, and Holt).  Heigl married scruffy singer/songwriter Josh Kelley on December 23, 2007; the pair met when Heigl appeared in Kelley's 2005 music video for the song “Only You.”   Heigl was announced the Most Desirable Women of 2008, according to AskMen.com.

Family:
When Izzie accidentally became pregnant at just 16, Izzie wanted a better life for her daughter so she gave her up for adoption. She still does not have a great relationship with her mother, having rarely spoken to her since she left home.

Notable Relationships:
Izzie started off liking Alex Karev, but after finding Alex with another woman dropped him. Izzie found real love with heart patient, Denny Duquette. Sadly, after weeks of caring for Denny, risking her whole medical career in a bid to get him a new heart, and a marriage proposal, Denny died, leaving Izzie heartbroken.  After a lot of time after grieving for Denny she found herself back with Alex Karev and the two are doing great this time around.

Other:
When Denny died, Izzie was left with a massive $8.7 million check and after contemplating leaving medicine altogether, she had a change of heart and stayed on the program. She is now involved with the Denny Duquette Memorial Clinic.  In recent episodes Izzie has developed stage four Melanoma, which is skin cancer.
